So far...

I've finally reached the Buu arc in dragonball !!
So exciting... have been able to read through since the beginning of the story, without having holes in between.

Last time i didn't manage to do these....

  1. Catch and read all the in-between volumes
  2. Understand what the comic said (Yes, it was in chinese)
  3. Of course, understand what the characters were talking about =P
But yeah, it's nice to re-read Dragonball again, just like how good Flame of Recca was =)
Too bad Dragonball GT doesn't have a manga, only in anime format =/

Who remembers the existence of this comic series?
This was my first ever comic book that i've read, and i've lately begun to read it again.
Watched movie clips of it, read the comic book (in chinese, lol), watched many episodes of it on tv (which was superrrrr dragggyy), so many years ago...

But as the saying goes, old habits die hard.
Goes the same for the things we constantly search for, when we were young.
How time flies...

I won't be surprised if the current generation of kids have not heard about Dragonball before.
Even my generation's (Original. Yes, Original!) power rangers have evolved into the [dunno what rangers] now =P

The future

Have been wondering what my future would be like.
Would i be doing audio, or video, music, or........... design (haha, limited to stickmen =P)

My classmate told me that i should try digital music composition, cos the market is on shortage of them. He's an animation/illustration designer, and he always mention the difficulty and competitiveness in the advertising field. Working long hours and sleepless nights, something which i'm certainly not in want of. Sigh, saw his flash game last night and it kinda killed my intention to delve a little into flash =P

Despite all these, i still know that God has great plans for me, and i'm not worried. He knows that i'm a family guy, but i'll leave it to Him =)

Should i watch this movie?
The plot seems interesting, but the ratings are like 6.5 / 10.
Hmms...

Physical distance ; Emotional point-blank

A familiar sensation, but new nonetheless.
I should be able to handle it. =)

God ~

Have you ever stopped a while to think
how God has been working in your life
how He was involved in everything that you did
even into the nitty gritty stuff that people wouldn't care
even into the depths of our hearts
which people would never know?

And when you look back and see
"eh... sneaky sneaky..."
you realised that whatever good things
whatever bad things
that have happened to you
worked out for a reason.
These events have occured
and have been allowed by Him
to teach you about life and Himself

and to me,
the most important thing is to rejoice
rejoice
REJOICE
in these events.
no matter how cruel life may be
no matter how irritating people around you can get
no matter what mistakes that you've made
He is always there to guide you
protect you
give you peace
assure you

so will you take the stand to give Christ the chance
now
right now
yes now
not later
not tomorrow
not another day
to be in the centre of your life
to allow Him to work within the depths of your heart
to follow His unflawed, perfect plan
that He has laid out for you

you know it's real
you know it's true
so why aren't you?
it doesn't happen in a blink of an eye
it doesn't just *bam* change like that
nothing will hit you straight away
people around you won't change themselves for you
but slowly by slowly
you will notice the little change in you
and it will grow
grow
Grow
GRow
GROw
GROW

and without realising it
people will notice the difference in you
a heart after God
not the world
a heart that pleases Him
a beacon of light that shines out
extinguishing the darkness that lurks around
both in you and in others
this is being a Living Testimony of God

will you take the stand
will you accept Him
will you stand firm in His Word
will you believe that He is there to bring you up
not pull you down
and to be with Him
forever
in His 2nd coming

no one can force you
for the choice is yours
and it isn't too late yet
His light is still shining.

Safe Baking?

As mentioned in Dor's blog, yup we sticked to safe baking after our first attempt at cooking dinner for my family, which welllll, ended up tasting quite ok, despite all the worries about the blandness of our main course soup =P

Flipping through a cookies/muffins/cake book that she had purchased recently, Dor pre-selected 3 types of muffins that we could try.... Blueberry, Choco muff & White Choco. Well, she had already known which of the 3 i would have chosen, but hey, what matters is the task of doing it together =)

// Caster sugar | vanilla essence | self-raising flour | unsalted butter | buttermilk //
What are these man... i even had problems finding them when we were in cold storage, lol. But luckily she knew where to find them =) My 18 years of experience in IT apparently didn't help either =P

(I even thought i could drink the buttermilk on its own, but haha when i poured it out, it looked like some milk mixed with corn, and the smell wasn't all too sweet-smelling =P)

Once we were done with the mixing and preparation, the actual baking was left for Mr.Oven =) Meanwhile we just walked around, peeked into the oven glass from outside, and took many photos using the glass reflections =)

After about 20 mins of heat..... "yay!" It looked good =)
Tasted kinda sweet though (i'm a sweet tooth and i found it quite sweet, so imagine diabetic people =P) but there were good comments by Dor's relatives =) So "double yay!" =)

Wanna try? =)

Key of my Heart?

I think i'm hooked on such short quizzes.... =P

The Keys to Your Heart

You are attracted to those who are unbridled, untrammeled, and free.

In love, you feel the most alive when your lover is creative and never lets you feel bored.

You'd like to your lover to think you are loyal and faithful... that you'll never change.

You would be forced to break up with someone who was ruthless, cold-blooded, and sarcastic.

Your ideal relationship is lasting. You want a relationship that looks to the future... one you can grow with.

Your risk of cheating is zero. You care about society and morality. You would never break a commitment.

You think of marriage as something precious. You'll treasure marriage and treat it as sacred.

In this moment, you think of love as something you thirst for. You'll do anything for love, but you won't fall for it easily.

Am I Romantic?

Wuuu.... there are quite a lot of different tests.
Maybe they aren't very accurate to the dot, but i guess it's fun to try them out =)

You Are A Romantic Realist

You tend to be grounded when it comes to romance.
Sure, you can fall hard... but only for someone you've gotten to know.
And once you're in love, you can be a total romantic goofball...
But you'd never admit it to your friends!

What's in my brain?

Found this out recently, and decided to give it a shot to see what i'm made of =)

You Are 45% Left Brained, 55% Right Brained

The left side of your brain controls verbal ability, attention to detail, and reasoning.
Left brained people are good at communication and persuading others.
If you're left brained, you are likely good at math and logic.
Your left brain prefers dogs, reading, and quiet.

The right side of your brain is all about creativity and flexibility.
Daring and intuitive, right brained people see the world in their unique way.
If you're right brained, you likely have a talent for creative writing and art.
Your right brain prefers day dreaming, philosophy, and sports.

We can't run from CONSEQUENCES

We are constantly under the influences of the World, the Flesh, and the Devil...
The temptation to sin and to indulge in the desires of the world is very strong, and even stronger when we lack discernment.

Even though God is merciful and gracious to us, and will forgive us of our sins when we confess them to Him, we must remember that sin gives birth to consequences. We will have to face consequences when we fail to uphold our control over ourselves.

Therefore, always keep a conscience mind and be clear of places where you know that you'll be tempted.

I was wondering what to post recently, cos i didn't want to post ordinary things in here and bore both me and you... so when i was looking through the photos taken from my camera phone, i found..........................this. =)

Bryan got tagged! All the way from The Cathay until MacDonald House, till a guy told him that he was tagged when we were eating in Long John Silvers. =)

Humility in Life

Something i learnt from my teaching leader in BSF last night...

In order to have JOY in your life, you must put:

Jesus -first-
Others -second- , and
Yourself -last-

Maddie Jackies ~!

We have always been thinking of how the food at this restaurant/food outlet tastes like..
It's called Mad Jack's Cafe, and is situated beside Crown Centre in Bt timah road (ultra visible from the bus stop outside)

It was quite late, so there wasn't the usual crowd. So we just took a seat somewhere near the counter and took a look at the menu. I must say that the menu design was quite nice wor =) Colourful and lots of pictures to look at =)

I ended up ordering grilled fish in honey sauce (cos my inital choice of the cheesy baked rice with fish wasn't available), and Dorothy ordered her ordinary looking beef burger (some small print on the menu which didn't seem attractive at all, whereas mine was on the main page with a dedicated picture attached =P)

Never judge food by its menu pictures.

Her beef burger ended up tasting real good, unlike mine. The beef was hot and tender, and the sauce/juice perked the taste too.. =) My fish was like... ugh. The honey sauce didn't match the taste of the fish, the fish tasted ok only, and the mushroom rice that came along with it was bland, ugh.

But the time spent was worth it. =)

On the Brink

Copyright: Dorothy Tan
(Picture shows how the world is trying to grasp onto Christians, bringing them away from God.)

Are you living on the brink? On the brink of choosing either the world or God. That's what's facing us now.

For whatever choice we choose is up to us. No one can force us to make a decision. But do remember, that whichever path we choose, there will be different outcomes and consequences.

Would you rather suffer for Christ in this limited time that we have on earth, and gain an eternal salvation in Him, or would you rather enjoy the pleasures of this planet, but to spend an eternity in the burning pits of hell?

The choice is yours.

Fun with Costumes

Went with Jonathan to a costume shop @ Aliwal St to check out some costumes for our in-house mini production.

Had Jon try out a make-shift viking outift (does he look like 1?) and guess who i found from Shrek II? =)

Meaning of being "together"

Sometimes it's so easy to just hide our true feelings from our friends and to show a calendar face, pretending that nothing's wrong. But aren't we deceiving ourselves by doing that? It just gets harder to turn back afterwards.

Don't forget that we can seek solace in God, because only He can see our hearts within and give us peace. We as humans are flawed, we aren't perfect, but that doesn't mean that we cannot rely on God to sustain us.

Many a time, people will tend to rely on themselves to solve their problems. Sometimes it works, but most of the time, it doesn't. It just resurfaces and return to taunt you again. But that isn't true with God in the centre of our lives. He is, afterall, the almighty. What can He not do? Therefore we should, like what Paul said in Philippians.

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:6-7

People may fail you, but God will never fail us.

Don't you just love animes?

They have all sorts of genres, characters, scenarios.
Their genre of music is so wide, ranging from classical to rock to pop, for all sorts of ears.
They talk about school, society, life in general, heroes, disasters, romance, and even literature.
They can be funny, serious, full of action, just pure fun, emotional, etc.

Who wouldn't like them? =)

Trusting God

We always say, "Lord i trust in you."

But how often do we really trust in Him faithfully?
And there we go on about our daily lives trying to depend on ourselves to complete it well.

I think it's high time we look back at ourselves and reflect on what in the "world" are we doing.
